A total of 16.8 million Americans have filed unemployment claim forms between March-April 2020 following coronavirus pandemic which has wreaked havoc across the world leading to economic depression.
According to France TV, over 16 million Americans have already submitted unemployment forms to the US government and now the major challenge is how to reduce the numbers.
In Florida for instance millions have lost their jobs in three weeks.
Businesses are crumbling and the center can no longer hold.
This unprecedented deterioration of the U.S. economy is alarming.
What is an unemployment claim?
An unemployment claim is a formal document that enables the claimant who is unemployed to receive payments made by authorized bodies. It is also known as unemployment benefits or unemployment compensation.
In the United States for instance, the benefits are funded by a compulsory government insurance system, not taxes on individual citizens.
Unemployment claims should be tabled by those registering as unemployed on condition that they search for jobs.
Besides, the claimant must provide enough evidence to back up his or her lay off.
This means that employees who have been laid off are the only ones justified to apply for unemployment benefits, not those who have been fired.
