Cancer (1) causes almost 459 000 deaths every year in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Over (2) the past five years, there were around 1.6 million cancer cases in the Region, making it a continuous burden that exerts tremendous physical, emotional and financial strain on individuals, families and (3) communities.
