TSC SALARY INCREMENTS FOR TUTORS IN JULY 2020; A COMPLETE GUIDE TO ALL TSC GRADES/ JOB GROUPS SET FOR THE JULY 2020 SALARY RISE
The Teachers Service Commission, TSC is set to implement the last phase (four) of the July 2020-2021 Central Bargaining Agreement, CBA starting July 2020.
However, not all tutors should nurse their dreams of fatter pay slips come July since some especially those in lower grades are not included in the list of beneficiaries.
The majority of those tutors who will miss out on the July 2020 pay rise had their CBA implemented in the first two phases only (July 2017 and July 2018).
Approximately 100, 000 teachers who fall in TSC lower grades will get promoted under the new 2020/2021 TSC budget. Some of these teachers include diploma holders in secondary schools and primary school teachers who have taught for over three years in Grade B5.
Teachers in Grade B5 currently earn Kshs 24, 476. By July 1, 2020, these tutors will pocket higher salaries – Kshs 30, 595 since they will be promoted to Grade C1.
PROMOTIONS FOR THE HIGH AND MIGHTY
Despite receiving higher salary increments in the last three phases, Chief Principals who fall in the highest TSC Grade in T-Scale 15 will still reap big from the July 2020 pay rise.
This grade encompasses principals of national and extra county schools with over 1, 000 students.
These principals currently earn Kshs 121, 814-Kshs 157, 656 a month.
After the July 2020 pay rise, these teachers will earn between Kshs 131, 380, and Kshs 157, 656 per month.
Senior principals in charge of County schools with over 540 students will also reap big since they expect a salary increment of between Kshs 3, 721, and Kshs 8, 993 per month.
These heads currently earn a monthly wage of between Kshs 109, 249, and Kshs 118, 169.
In the upcoming phase, they will earn a monthly salary of between Kshs 118, 242, and 121, 890 per month effective end of July 2020.
Principals in T-Scale 13 who are in charge of sub-county and day secondary schools will also get an increment of Kshs 10, 794 per month for the lowest- paid in this category while the highest-paid will get a salary increase of Kshs 1, 837.
All teachers in this grade will earn an equalized monthly salary of Kshs 104, 644.
