TSC Budgetary Allocation 2023/2024 for promotion of More than 5 categories of teachers in July

 

TSC Receives funds for promotion of More than 5 categories of teachers this July

TSC gets funds for promotion of More than 5 categories of teachers in July. It is another good news to teachers from job group B5 to D3 that have experienced stagnation for their time to reap big is now here.

In reference to an earlier circular, about 4,595 primary school teachers currently in Job Group C will be promoted to Job Group C2.

 

Also teachers in Job Group C2 will be upgraded to C3, and C3 teachers to C4.

 

 

The promtotinal exercise is estimated to cost Sh1 billion. The exercise is to start in July.

 

At the same time , another 652 college teachers in Grade D3 are to be moved up to Grade D4 at a cost of more than Sh175 million.

 

On Thursday, the that the National Treasury revealed an allocation of their employer a total of Sh1 billion for promotions of at least 13,713

TSC had earlier indicated it required funds to to move primary, those in secondary and college teachers to the next grade.

According to the Education Parliamentary Committee chairman Julius Melly ,the decision to allocate that money for promotion was to motivate teachers to render quality teaching.

 

While addressing the Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) in Mombasa yesterday, Melly asked the commission to ensure all teachers who have stagnated in one grade for years are promoted first.

 

Melly said that the ministry gave Sh1 billion to promote teachers.

 

The band of teachers from grade D3 to D4 should be given special consideration in the next promotion as they have not been promoted for years.

 

On the other hand , Kahi Indimuli also said that there has been delays in promotion of teachers in all grades, saying that deputy principals who have been denied promotions even after acting for one year.

 

Also Indimuli noted that in most cases, school deputies had acted for over six months, however instead of being considered for promotion, these teachers were demoted after new principals were posted to those schools.

 

The promotion exercise will see about 13,713 secondary and primary school principals,the vice principals, senior masters, secondary teachers,the head teachers, and assistant head teachers will also be promoted

 

 

 

 

 

Equally there will be promotions for 2,733 head teachers at regular primary schools

 

Another 1,330 teachers at secondary schools will be promoted as another 1,725 deputies principal IIs.

 

Lastly 602 leaders at regular schools, another 224 deputy principal IIIs at secondary schools and 208 senior master IIs will be promoted.

 

Parliament budget allocation gave TSC at least Sh2.2 billion for teachers to be promoted and their new pay catered for.
