Top Candidate in 2023 KCPE Results scoops 428 marks

 Top Candidate in 2023 KCPE Results scoops 428 marks

 The top candidate  during this year’s KCPE 2023 results presented by Knec to the CS education for the official release on Thursday November 23, 2023 scooped 428 out of the possible 500 marks. This is a slight negative deviation of 3 points from the top mark recorded by the KCPE 2022 top candidates.

A total of 234, 473 teachers manned the recently-released 2023 KCPE national examinations. A total of 750 KCPE Examiners were contracted by the Kenya National Examinations Council to mark Kiswahili Insha, English Composition and Kenya Sign Language candidates’ scripts in November, 2023.

Since this was the last KCPE examination in the country, Knec CEO Dr. David Njeng’ere lauded the three KCPE chief examiners- Kiswahili Insha, English Composition and Kenya Sign Language for the commendable job done. They were honored and garlanded for faithfully serving the Council in the capacity of chief examiners for over 38 years. When given a chance to speak, the TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia also promised to honor the three examiners for their memorable and worthwhile services.

All KCPE examiners who served during the 8-4-4 era were also appreciated for their sacrifice. The Teachers Service Commission boss also promised to recognize the examiners. The TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia lauded the incessant efforts of teachers who took part in preparing the learners for the KCPE national examinations.

Teachers were also ushered into the new competency based curriculum which unlike KCPE, focuses on both school based assessments and TSC County  directors in Vihiga and Taita Taveta were commended for registering all the KCPE 2023 candidates in good time since the afore-mentioned counties did not have cases of late registration.

He further thanked the Kenya National Examinations for implementing the recommendations and changes proposed by his committee to ensure a water-tight examinations. The MP acknowledged that there are teething problems surrounding the administration of the newly rolled out KPSEA examinations  and implored upon parents and teachers to embrace it.

Payment of KCPE and KCSE Examiners

Dr. Belio Kipsang promised that the government will pay all the 2023/2024 KCSE Examiners in good time. He also promised to ensure that government capitation for primary, junior secondary and senior secondary educations will hit school accounts before schools reopen on 8th January, 2024.
