The Kenya National Union of Teachers, KNUT has issued a stern warning to the Teachers Service Commission, TSC to brace for war if 100, 000 teachers who were denied pay rise for the last one year do not get their dues this week.

TSC Head of Communications, Ms. Beatrice Wababu has confirmed that indeed 32, 556 teachers did not receive any promotions or salary rise since they still do fall under the old schemes of service being championed by KNUT.

The six primary school teachers had been promoted based on higher qualifications and duly released by TSC to serve as lecturers in teacher training colleges. Barely two years after getting deployed to the TTCs, they were forced to go back to primary schools to serve as regular classroom teachers.
