<p>The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released the payment rates for contracted professionals who will be in charge of the 2022 KCSE, KCPE and KPSEA examinations to be done in November/ December this year (2022).</p>

<p>The contracted professionals who include Centre Managers (Principals and Head Teachers), Supervisors, Invigilators and Security Personnel are expected to update their details online and download their invitation letters at https://cp2.knec.ac.ke/Professionals</p>

<p>According to Payment details released by the Council, Primary school heads who will act as Centre Managers for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE, exams will pocket a daily subsistence allowance of Sh500; for a total of 4 days (including rehearsal day). The exams will be done between Monday November 28<span style="text-transform: initial;">, 2022 to Wednesday November 30, 2022.</span></p>
<p>Rehearsals for KCPE will be conducted on November 25, 2022, with the exams officially beginning on November 28 and ending on November 30, 2022.</p>
<p>KCSE will be rehearsed on November 18, and thereafter sat for between November 21 and December 23, 2022.</p>
<p>On their part, Secondary schools Principals are expected to also earn a daily allowance of Sh500 for 18 days. The highest paid Supervisor will walk away with a sum total of Sh12,510 while the highest paid invigilator will pocket Sh9860. The KCSE exams will kick off in November 21, 2022. The last examination day will be done in December 23, 2022.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, the Council has again failed to factor payment for Deputy Head Teachers and Principals despite the fact that they will be present during the examination period as assistant Centre Managers. Also walking home empty handed are teachers handling science subjects who will be required to prepare and administer practicals during the KCSE examinations.</p>

<p>This year’s KCPE exams will be done between November 28 and December 1. Writing of theory and practical exams for KCSE exams is expected to be between Monday 4th November and Wednesday 27th November. The government has mobilised 180,000 teachers as well as police helicopters for this year’s national examinations.</p>

<p>A total of 286,000 professionals have been contracted by the Council to administer the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.</p>

<p>The <strong><a href="https://newspro.co.ke/category/knec-news/">Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec)</a></strong> will contract close to 286,000 professionals to administer the 2021 – 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams; which will be done in March/April and November- December, this year (2022).</p>
<p>According to the latest guidelines by Knec, those interested are expected to apply online by February 26, 2022.</p>
<p>“An estimated 286,000 field officers will be engaged on an agency basis to facilitate the conduct of exams in the field. The field officers contracted for the administration of exams will be expected to register online using the contracted professional CP2 system by February 25,” says the Council through a five-page document detailing the preparations that have been put in place to ensure the exams run smoothly.</p>
<h1><strong>List of Centre Invigilators and Supervisors</strong></h1>

<p>Deployments are being done by the Ministry of Education Sub County Directors of Education and Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Sub County Directors in every sub-county.</p>
<p><strong>Nominated professionals shall then be notified via SMS and/or email as soon as the exercise is complete.</strong></p>

<p>The Council will then post the list of selected invigilators and Supervisor(s) for particular Centres/ schools on the respective school’s account in the Knec portal.</p>
<p>Centre managers (school heads and Principals) will then be able to log onto the portal and check the list.</p>

<p>The list contains the names of the contracted professionals, positions ( Centre Manager, Supervisor or Invigilator) Gender and National Identity Card (ID) number.</p>
<p>Also to be available on the portal are: Examination Centre details (Centre code and name), Location of centre, Examination materials Distribution Centre Details, Distance from the Distribution Centre and the registered number of Candidates.</p>

<li>Visit the KNEC contracted professionals’ portal by using the address/ URL; <strong><a href="https://cp2.knec.ac.ke/">https://cp2.knec.ac.ke</a></strong></li>
<li>For a new user, click on the <strong>‘CREATE ACCOUNT’</strong> tab.</li>
<li>Then, enter your mobile phone number in the format 2547….., confirm the mobile phone number (by re-entering it) and click on <strong>‘CREATE ACCOUNT’.</strong></li>
<li>You will receive a successful account creation message on your window.</li>
<li>Your User Name and Password will be sent to the Phone number that you registered.</li>
<li>Now log onto the portal by entering your User Name (which is in the format) 2547….. and your secret password. Enter them into the home page at<strong> <a href="https://cp2.knec.ac.ke/">https://cp2.knec.ac.ke</a></strong> and click on <strong>‘LOG IN’.</strong></li>
<li>Once logged in, Provide your personal and other required information like Full name, Year of Birth, Gender, National ID Number, KRA PIN Number, Email, Highest Qualification, Current Work Station and Next of Kin Details. Then click on <strong>‘SAVE’.</strong></li>

<p>Apart from the 286,000 professionals who will be contracted to man the exams, the number of examination centres has also steadily risen. For instance, 28,451 KCPE exam centres will be used.</p>

<p>“Knec has prepared examinations for students with different disabilities namely the blind, low vision, hearing impairment and the physically challenged so that they will not be inconvenienced during the exam,” Adds the Council.</p>
<p>On the other hand, 479 containers will be used to store KCPE examination materials while 468 containers will be used for KCSE. These containers are spread across all sub-counties in the country.</p>
