ST PATRICK’S HIGH SCHOOL ITEN was established in 1961 by the Patrician Brothers, Irish Missionaries who came to Kenya after the Mau Mau uprising.
At that time students could raise their fees by working in the school farm.
The school was controlled by the Roman atholic Diocese of Eldoret.

In 2013 KCSE, the school was ranked at position 48 nationally with a mean score of 59.556 which translates to a B- (Minus).
In 2017, it improved for it was ranked at position 37 nationally.
It became the second-best secondary school in Elgeyo Marakwet County after Sing’ore Girls.
