The Social Health Authority, SHA, has asked all Teachers (employed by the Teachers Service Commission, TSC) to register on the new Comprehensive Mwalimu Medical Cover {Ultimate Guide). This will enable the tutors to continue ejoying Comprehensive Medical Cover similar to the one under Minet Scheme.
SHA has sent the message below to all teachers;
Dear Teachers, SHA welcomes you to the new Comprehensive Mwalimu Medical Cover. Please confirm and/or update your dependents in *147# or afyayangu.go.ke
The Medical will be active Effective 1st/ 12/ 2025.
The Social Health Authority is established under section 25 of the Act and is utilized to pool all contributions made under the Act.
SHA is designed to provide healthcare services from empaneled and contracted healthcare providers and healthcare facilities on referral from primary health facilities. The Social Health Authority ensures that every resident in Kenya can access a comprehensive range of quality health services they need without the burden of financial hardship.
How to Register
Method 1: Web Self registration/ Online Registration
Step 1: On your web browser, open the SHA website; by using this link: https://afyayangu.go.ke/#/registration
From the SHA website, click on register and start the registration process.
Take a few minutes to go through the policies, instructions for self-onboarding and the terms and conditions before continuing to the next step
Step 2: Go through the self-registration process
After reading the terms and conditions, enter your details on the subsequent pages then proceed to finish your self-registration.
Step 3: Review the details and finish application
Confirm the details entered on the application and submit accurate data required.
Method 2: USSD Self registration
Step 1: Dial the USSD code on your phone
Dial *147# on your mobile device then proceed to accept the SHA terms and conditions.
Step 2: Enter your ID number
Enter your Kenyan the identity card number and first name for verification. Then proceed by confirming your details.
Step 3: Complete registration process
Enter all your details accurately and await a confirmation message to confirm you registration once done.
