SEX-STARVED TEACHER IN CUSTODY FOR RAPING HIS PUPIL FOR TWO WEEKS IN MSAMBWENI, KILIFI COUNTY: TEACHERS’ NEWS TODAY

    In a nutshell

Mr. Mathias Mramba, a teacher at Kiruku Primary School has been accused of raping a sixteen-year-old girl for the last two weeks.

He together with his friend tricked the girl to his house where they forced her to have sex. Attempts by the girl to stop the teacher from degrading her fell on deaf ears since the two raped her in turn while holding her.

Confirming the incident, Kwale OCPD Mr. Joseph Chebusut said that defilement cases in the county have been on the rise especially during this covid-19 era.

A teacher in Diani, Msambweni sub-county, Kwale County is under probe for defiling a sixteen-year-old girl.

The teacher together with his accomplice is accused of raping the girl whose identity we will not reveal for obvious reasons for the past two weeks.

“He together with his other friend tricked me to his house in Ukunda. He then forced me to have sex with him. I cried against this move but they would not listen. They forcefully undressed and raped me,” narrated the girl.

    TURN TAKING

According to the victim, her assailants took turns to rape her and they have been doing this for a period of two weeks now.

“They did it in turn forcefully while holding me. They have been doing this for a period of two weeks,” said the girl.

The girl’s mother said that her daughter has been missing for two weeks now.

“We searched for her everywhere to no avail. I tried to call the parents of her friends if they had seen her but still could not find her. That is when I decided to go to the police so that they can help locate her only for her to appear while crying and moaning in pain. I kept asking her what the problem was but she kept on crying. I finally calmed her down that is when she revealed to me that it is her teacher who had raped her in his house,” said the mother.

This is a very painful ordeal since teachers are expected to serve as role models and above all protect and serve the interests of their learners.

“It is very painful if a teacher who is supposed to be custodian now turns out to be a hyena in sheep’s skin. May the law deal with him together with his friend. I need justice for my daughter, “said the girl’s mother.

Confirming the incident, Kwale OCPD Mr. Joseph Chebusut said that defilement cases in the county have been on the rise especially during this covid-19 era.

In Msambweni sub- County, thirteen cases of defilement have been reported so far with Ukunda taking the lead with five.

“There has been a rise in defilement of minors in the county since March. The teacher allegedly defiled the girl in his house together with his friend. They raped her and we have started an investigation into the matter before we arraign him,” said Mr. Chebusut.

The teacher and his accomplice are being held at Diani police station.
