How Check Your NHIF Status Through SMS Using only Your ID Number
The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) is the body which primarily provides health insurance in country. The body is mandated to enable every Kenyan to access quality and affordable health services among other duties.
If you subscribed to NHIF and you’re a type that loves doing things at a comfort zone, count yourself lucky as this saves your time and effort.The following are two different ways to go on about this.
Check NHIF status By SMS
(i). Go to the app for messages on your phone
(ii). Type in the letters ‘ID’ and enter a space then type in the figures of your ID or ID number e.g. ID 12345678
(iii). Thereafter, send that text message to the number 21101 as you patiently wait for a feedback.
You ought to know that checking your status via SMS costs ksh. 10. Therefore, this process will only work when you have a balance not less than ksh. 10 in your phone.
Checking NHIF status using USSD code.
In this second procedure, you’ll have to do the following:
(i). Navigate to the app used to make calls and dial *155#
(ii). Choose the language you prefer between English and Kiswahili.
(iii). Immediately you’re done choosing the right Language for you, Select national health scheme as provided on the screen of your phone.
(iv). Accurately enter your ID number.
(v) At this stage, an OTP will be sent to you via an SMS that you’ll use to Verify the OTP password.
(Vi) Then Select My status to view your status on your NHIF account and then you’ll be done.
