Coronavirus: Kenya Confirms three more Coronavirus Cases

Three more cases of the dreaded Coronavirus have been confirmed in Kenya today.

This brings the total number of Coronavirus cases to seven.

According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the three cases are imported.

He further added that any Kenyan who is travelling back into the country must self quarantine for fourteen consecutive days or risk a jail term and forced quarantine.

The CS said that the Government has come up with measures such as signing of legal documents at the airport to ensure that Kenyans travelling back home do not put the lives of other Kenyans at stake.

On Sunday, Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta also gave the following guidelines to curb the spread of Coronavirus:

Following the confirmation of three Coronavirus positive cases in Kenya by Sunday March 15 2020, the Kenyan Government took swift steps to curb further spread of the dreaded Coronavirus.

Consequently, the President issued the following guidelines to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus in Kenya.

They include:

1. Government banning all travels in and out of the country
2. Only Kenyan citizens with valid passports will be allowed in only if they test positive.
3. All Kenyans who arrived in the country in the last 14 days to take self quarantine.
4. All schools and learning institutions to be closed by Friday March 19 2020.
5. Government offices and companies must allow workers to work from home, unless it is absolutely necessary to work from the office.
6. Cashless transactions to be used instead of cash transactions. The Cost of transactions should hence be lowered.
7. Avoid any kind of congregations such as weddings, funerals, church, shopping malls and entertainment places, minimise congestion in public transport, limit congestions in hospitals
8. Hospitals and shopping malls to provide water and soap or sanitizers for their customers.

What is the source of Coronavirus?

Coronavirus originates from animals to human. It is believed to have originated from a snake, at the South China Seafood Wholesale Market.

Most of the victims die from Coronavirus especially if their immune system is weak.

Most Coronavirus victims die from pneumonia-related complications and swelling in the lungs.

Coronavirus also causes swelling in the respiratory system making it hard to breathe lungs cannot pass oxygen into the bloodstream.

This leads to organ failure and death.

Severe pneumonia can kill a person by drowning them in the fluid flooding their lungs.
