KCSE MARKING OF 2019 KCSE EXAMS KICKS OFF
The marking of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education national exams has kicked off today at various marking centres across the nation.
KNEC contracted professionals who received invitations to mark this year’s KCSE English Paper three (101/3) have already reported at Alliance Girls High School in Nairobi for the exercise.
Their counter-parts who will be marking the KCSE English paper 2 (101/2) have also reported at Alliance Boys High school in readiness for the tough exercise ahead.

The recently concluded KCPE National exam marking exercise has set the ball rolling for the release of the long-awaited results which will determine the transition of Kenyan learners from primary to secondary level.
According to The Standard, it is now up to President Uhuru Kenyatta to determine when the exams will be released.
Sources at the Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC have hinted that the processing of results for more than 1 million KCPE candidates is complete.
This, therefore, means that the results will be out this week.

Four KCPE candidates have been forced to sit for their national exams at separate hospitals after delivering hours to the onset of the examinations.
The candidates hail from Nakuru, Bometand Nakuru Counties.
In the first incident, the girl from Oloisailal Primary School in Transmara West sub-county completed her first paper at Lolgorian District Hospital after giving birth yesterday night. She was consequently admitted at the hospital’s maternity ward from where she took her examination.

KNEC PAYMENT RATES FOR OFFICIALS WHO WILL ADMINISTER THE 2019 KCPE AND KCSE EXAMS
KNEC has released the payment rates for all officials who have been hired to administer this year’s 2019 national examinations.
Teachers who will supervise this year’s KCSE will get sh 12, 500 for three weeks.
A detailed payment structure by KNEC shows that teachers will earn up to sh 12500.
Primary school heads who will serve as centre managers will earn up to sh 500 per day.

HOW TO ACCESS THE KNEC PORTAL https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke TO DOWNLOAD EXAMINERS’ MARKING INVITATION LETTERS
The Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC, has given new guidelines for examiners who would wish to take part in the marking of the 2019 KCSE and KCPE examinations.
KCPE and KCSE examiners are therefore expected to log on to a new portal https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke to download their invitation letters.
The letters contain important information on reporting dates, rates for marking, marking instructions and centres.
