DR. AKOMBE READY TO TESTIFY IN MUSANDO MURDER TRIAL, ASKS LSK PRESIDENT NELSON HAVI TO REPRESENT HER

Former IEBC commissioner Dr. Roselyne Akombe has resurfaced and announced that she is ready to give her testimony on the mysterious murder of her former colleague Chris Musando.
This is after she reached out to the LSK president Nelson Havi on Thursday, July 30, and asked him to represent her in the Musando murder trial.
DOCTOR AKOMBE REACHES OUT TO NELSON HAVI OVER MUSANDO MURDER TRIAL
Dr. Roselyne Akombe has reached out to the Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi asking him to represent her in the Musando murder trial.
She said she is ready to give her testimony on the events that may have led to the untimely demise of her former colleague at the IEBC, who got murdered a few days to the 2017 elections.
“On this anniversary of my colleague, Musando, could you take this case up in the public’s interest? As I have said in the past, I am ready to testify,” she asked Havi on Twitter.
We are yet to confirm whether Havi accepted to represent Dr. Akombe.
Her decision to testify seems to have been made on the very day Msando’s gruesome murder took place three years ago in the hands of brutal unknown assailants.
CHRIS MUSANDO’S MURDER
The former IEBC ICT manager was found dead and his body dumped in a thicket in Kikuyu, Kiambu County.
His wrists were slit, which made many Kenyans speculate that he may have refused to give up the passwords to allow the assailants to access the IEBC servers and tamper with the results of the elections.
According to former Inspector General Joseph Boinnet, Msando had presented himself to the police in 2016 and expressed fear that his life was in danger.
“Msando indeed reported to Central Police Station on December 22, 2016, that some unknown persons sent him abusive and threatening messages in October,” said Boinnet.
Six months later, on Friday, August 2, 2017, six days into the hotly contested general elections, Msando went missing.
As fate had it, Msando never made it. Circumstances surrounding his death still remain a mystery. President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the winner but the Supreme Court annulled the results of the Presidential elections citing irregularities.
AKOMBE FLEES KENYA CITING ANONYMOUS DEATH THREATS
A new election was slated for after 60 days but 9 days into the rerun, Dr. Roselyne Akombe decided to flee the country for the US on October 18, 2017.
“It will be suicidal to think that nothing will happen to you. I have never felt the kind of fear that I experienced in my own country,” she said in reference to Msando’s murder during an interview with the BBC.
She added that she had received anonymous death threats and was under pressure to resign. She also revealed that she did not feel safe to return to Kenya in the foreseeable future.
She has since remained in the US UNTIL YESTERDAY WHEN SHE RESURFACED WITH PLANS TO REVIVE ONE OF THE COUNTRY’S DARKEST MOMENTS-CHRIS MUSANDO’S MURDER.
