Results for all 1,244,188 candidates who sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in November have been released by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu at Mitihani House in Nairobi on December 21, 2022.

 

 

The two Top candidates in the 2022 KCPE exams scored 431 marks. The number of candidates who scored different marks are as follows;

Fwaro Makokha of Christ the King Academy in Bungoma County is the top candidate who scored 431 marks out of the possible 500.

Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu on Wednesday, December 21 released the results of the 2022 KCPE exam.

The top performer scored 431 marks out of the possible 500.

The candidates who scored between 400 and 500 marks were 9,443; 300-399 marks (307,756), 200-299 marks (619,593), 100-199 marks (296,336) and 1-99 marks (724).

There were 2,417 special needs candidates who wrote the 2022 KCPE exam.

Those who scored between 400 and 500 marks under this category were seven, 300-399 marks (296), 200-299 marks (838), 100-199 marks (1,270) and 1-99 marks (six).

A total of 1,233,852 candidates sat the 2022 KCPE exam.

Below are some of the top performers in the 2022 KCPE exam:

Kyalo Precious Waeni of Orchards School in Kajiado County scored 423 marks.

Sandra Nyambura Gachuri scored 411 marks out of the possible 500 in the 2022 KCPE exam.

Ryan Mutwiri of Kathirigi Mixed Public Boarding School in Meru County scored 423 marks.

Gilbert Amani Ongoro of Moi Education Centre in Nairobi County scored 423 marks.

Keith Nimrod Ochieng’ of Golden Elites Primary School in Kisumu County scored 429 marks.

Barack Kuya Lumbasi of Kakamega Primary School in Kakamega County scored 420 marks.

Leevan Kiptoon Kandie of Radiance Academy in Nakuru scored 409 marks.

Nadia Jeptoo Kemboi of Kapsabet Highlands in Nandi County scored 422 marks.

Mwaniki Baraka Mumo of Kerugoya Municipality Primary School in Kirinyaga County scored 424 marks.

Mwangi Neema Solance of Radiance Academy in Nakuru County scored 416 marks.

Muthii Grace Pendo of Kerugoya Municipality Primary School in Kirinyaga County scored 412 marks.

Mathew Onyando of Roots Academy in Nakuru County scored 409 marks.

Leon Maina of Roots Academy in Nakuru County scored 420 marks.

 

Mwasi Kwamboka Mellen of St. Andrew’s Kaggwa Girls Boarding School in Nyamira County scored 415 marks.

Carl Baraka of Xaverian Primary School in Kisumu County scored 423 marks.

The release of the results will be followed by Form One selection, that will happen after Christmas. The form one placement results will be released on January 16, 2022 in order to give parents ample time to prepare their children before schools reopen on January 23.

 

According to a circular dated 1st November 2022, from Principal Secretary (PS) for Basic Education, the candidates will join Form one on 30th January 2023.

 

Candidates can know their KCPE results by sending an SMS with their index number to 20076. They will be charged sh. 25 for sending this SMS.

Standardization for languages i.e English and Kiswahili happened this way. For question 1 to 25 a total of 12 marks was awarded. For question 26 to 50 a total of 48 marks was awarded. In short Comprehension carries 48 marks and Grammar part 12 marks.
