Homa Bay County prides itself in producing the following schools in the top 20 KCPE 2023 results regionally. Top in the chat is St Joseph’s Combined Academy in Oyugis that produced the best candidate in the County, Walcott Otieno Onyango, who scored 422 marks. He was followed by Alphonce Oburah Nyabinda of  Echoes of Mercy Christian School in Kabondo Kasipul constituency with 411 mean marks. Clinching the top 3 candidates in the county is John Charles of Janeiro Junior Academy in Rangwe constituency with 403 mean marks.

In the 2022 KCPE, female candidates performed better than their male counterparts in three languages among them English, Kiswahili, and Sign language.

Male candidates performed better than female candidates in Maths, Science, Social Studies, and Religious Education.

Four counties recorded more male than female candidates this year. They are Turkana, Garissa, Wajir and Mandera.
