TSC Salary Rise 2023/2024: Primary School Teachers Will Receive A Ksh 6000 Pay Increment

Primary School Teachers Popularly referred to as P1 tutors are set to receive a Ksh 6000 pay rise. The vast majority of P1 grade B5 teachers employed by the Teachers Service Commission have persevered with issues influencing their pay increase for a number of years.

According to the teachers, the union purportedly consented to a non-financial CBA for the years 2021–2025.

According to the TSC CEO, plans exist to increase the compensation boost for B5 P1 instructors, who have long been paid too little.

The TSC Boss indicated that the Commission is willing to increase all P1 teachers’ remuneration by Ksh 6,000 per month, therefore starting in July 2023, teachers’ salaries would increase by Ksh 6,000 per month.

This wage increase will become effective in December 2021–2022, following the compensation increase TSC would adopt for P1 teachers.

The Teaching Service panel (TSC) presented documents that addressed the teachers’ recommendations for their pay cadres, and the commission has acknowledged this, according to the SRC chairperson.

According to further sources, the SRC’s directions are crucial for their analysis of the instructor compensation issue.

Previously, there had been persistent disagreements between the TSC, KNUT union, and KUPPET union on a number of crucial issues affecting the government assistant instructors.

Recent discussions over the CBA 2021-2025 agreement, which was originally announced in July 2021 and is scheduled to expire in June, have mostly focused on the pay of incoming TSC teachers.

Within the following two weeks, specifics on the proposals the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) would make about the requests put up by teachers for the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the years 2021–2025 are anticipated.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) have been rebuffed in their attempts to provide KUPPET and KNUT with an official and conclusive response on the new collective agreement, CBA 2021–2025. Positive developments point to eventual clarity of the information.

The teachers finally getting a second response from the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, SRC, is the greatest part of it. In response to criticisms regarding TSC pay, this committee is in charge of determining and approving compensation hikes for all federal officials. This gives encouragement to many instructors today.
