<p>The Teachers Service Commission &lpar;TSC&rpar; has removed fifteen&comma; 15&comma; teachers from the official register after disciplinary hearings found them guilty of professional misconduct&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In a Gazette Notice dated September 19&comma; 2025&comma; the commission announced that the affected teachers are permanently barred from teaching in Kenya unless reinstated by the TSC&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The deregistration means the teachers are no longer recognized as professionals under the Teachers Service Commission Act&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote class&equals;"pullquote align-center"><p><strong>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The persons named herein have been removed from the Register of Teachers pursuant to the provision of section 30 &lpar;2&rpar; of the Teachers Service Commission Act&comma;” the notice read in part&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p><&sol;blockquote>&NewLine;<p>The notice&comma; signed by Acting TSC Secretary and CEO E&period;J&period; Mitei&comma; further warned that employing unregistered teachers is an offense under the TSC Act&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<h2><strong><b>Barred from Teaching<&sol;b><&sol;strong><&sol;h2>&NewLine;<p>Any school or individual found guilty of engaging in such activities risks a fine of not less than Ksh 100&comma;000 or imprisonment of up to two years&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The commission stated that deregistered teachers cannot practice again unless the TSC itself reinstates them&comma; a rare occurrence reserved for exceptional cases&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;With effect from the date of publication of this notice&comma; the persons listed herein cease to be teachers for purposes of the Act&comma; Mugwuku Nthamburi said the affected teachers’ details did not appear in the commission’s system&comma; pointing to &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;anomalies in transferring teacher details into soft records&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The memo&comma; addressed to all TSC regional and county directors&comma; further noted that some teachers’ qualifications differed from what appears in the commission’s records&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The Commission has been processing the data submitted&period;
