TSC Recruitment Vacancies 2023/2024
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) on Friday, May 26 made it public that there are 488 available job vacancies for teachers and teaching interns across the country. The vacancies are spread across Junior Secondary schools and public secondary schools.
Check the distribution of the advertised TSC teaching vacancies as of May 2023 below:
1. JSS teacher interns=328 vacancies
2. Secondary School teacher interns=16 vacancies
3. North Eastern region=88 vacancies
4. Permanent and pensionable (Secondary)=56 vacancies
Through an official notice, the Commission made it clear its intention to hire 328 interns for Junior Secondary Schools, 16 interns for Public Secondary Schools, 56 permanent and pensionable teachers for post-primary institutions, and 88 contractual teachers for Garissa, Wajir, and Mandera.
The advertisement clarified that the positions include permanent and pensionable jobs, internships, and contractual roles.
The interns will be employed for a period of 12 months, with those assigned to junior secondary and seniorr secondary schools receiving a monthly stipend of Ksh20,000. Those who will be posted to primary schools will pocket Kshs 15,000 per month.
After the one-year period lapses, the Commission may either directly absorb the interns into the permanent and pensionable employment scheme based on the availability of vacancies and funds or renew their contracts until they mature for permanent and pensionable Recruitment.
Those who will be employed on permanent and pensionable terms should be prepared to remit mandatory contributions among them NHIF and PSSS. In the new dispensation of the Public Service Superannuation Scheme, each TSC employee must contribute 7.5 per cent of their basic salary in readiness for their retirement.

All applicants must be Kenyan citizens, possess at least a diploma in Education, be registered with TSC, and have achieved a mean grade of C+ and C+ in two teaching subjects (for interns).
Required documents include copies of the Teacher Registration Certificate, National Council for Persons with Disability (NCPWD) card (if applicable), National Identity Card or passport, two color passport-size photographs, National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) documentation, and Kenya Revenue Authority Personal Identification Number (KRA PIN).
