Thogoto TTC  Background Information

Thogoto Teachers Training College dates back to the year 1949 when it was founded at Kambui Mission in Kiambu by the Church of Scotland Mission (now PCEA). The objective was to train primary school teachers, P1 teachers who were primary school leavers.

The College has however undergone metamorphosis for it now trains P1 grade teachers who are form 4 (KCSE) leavers.

The College sits on a 75- acre parcel most of which is taken up by buildings (halls and hostels, classes, library, and playing fields).

The College is a public institution sponsored by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA). Thogoto Teachers Training College enjoys the serene mission area of Kikuyu near the renowned Alliance schools.

It is located off the Dagoretti Corner-Kikuyu road linked to Gikambura road at Thogoto junction before the University of Nairobi, Kikuyu Campus
