The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has shed light on when the 2022/2023 placement results for 2021 KCSE candidates will be released.

According to KUCCPS, the results will be released by * June 2022. the deadline for KUCCPS placement application 2022 via the schools portal has been set for April 1, 2022. If you applied for the 2022 KUCCPS Placement, be on the lookout and constantly check the KUCCPS portal for the latest verified news on the release of the placement results this year.

New KUCCCPS Placement Selection Criteria for 2021-2022 KCSE candidates/ applicants

Unlike in the previous KUCCPS selection, the 2021-2022 KCSE candidates have got an upper hand given that KUCCPS has incorporated four categories of course choices in one.

According to KUCCPS CEO, KCSE candidates are at liberty to select from a wide range of degree, diploma, certificate, and artisan course choices. The degree options have also been expanded to six to allow students to select up to 18 KUCCPS course choices this year.

Kindly note that despite paying an affordable fee of Kshs 500 for the KUCCPS placement application, the applicant is free to apply for a maximum of 18 courses.

Six options have been set aside for degree courses, four for diploma option, four for craft certificate courses, and four for artisan certificate courses.

NOTES FOR APPLICANTS

Applicants can apply for kuccps placement for either combination for all the four levels afore-mentioned.

Each application must be filled in the correct field. Wrongly placed applications will be trashed.

Candidates should apply for programmes that they can comfortably pursue based on their academic ability since no field is mandatory. This means that the candidate has not been compelled to complete the 18 KUCCPS course choices.

KUCCPS pay bill (business number) for 2022-2023 placement

The official KUCCPS business number dubbed pay bill is 820201. Use this pay bill for all KUCCPS transactions. The account number is the 8-digit centre code. The amount to be paid for KUCCPS placement 2022-2022 for all school/ centre applications stands at Kshs 500. In case KUCCPS revises the application fee, we will let you know.

NEW 2022-2023 KUCCPS PLACEMENT MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION AND REVISION OF COURSE CHOICES 

KUCCPS recently announced slight changes in the requirements for KUCCPS placement for all KCSE candidates. Kindly check if you are legible.

Kuccps application/ revision of courses 2022-2023-Legibility

  1. Student’s details such as KCSE index number and name.
  2. Kuccps list of course choices-basket 
  3. KUCCPS M-PESA pay bill number or business number-820201
  4. Account- the 8-digit centre/ school code
  5. Kshs 500 for first-time applicants-school application
  6. Kshs 1, 500 for first-time applicants-revision
  7. M-PESA transaction code for verification of payment for the service.
  8. School Location and Contact- for school/ centre applications

HOW TO APPLY FOR 2022-2023 KUCCPS PLACEMENT

For the application procedure, please refer to the Principal’s Manual available on the Placement Service website www.kuccps.ac.ke under Downloads.

The school principal is expected to access the Placement Service Portal through: https://schools.kuccps.net/ or by visiting the Placement Service website: https://kuccps.net and clicking on the link marked Principal’s Portal.

All schools/centres are supposed to create a new account, kindly click on the ‘New Account’ link and fill in the relevant verification details to create the new account.

Next, log in with the registered credentials and move to the ‘Applications’ tab.

Fill in the School Location and Contact information.
Click the ‘Application Template’ button.

This will download the excel workbook we expect you to populate with the student’s choices (7-digit Programme Codes NOT Programme Names).
Filling and saving the template

The student has 18 choices open to them,
1. 6 Degree options (1a, 1b, 1c, 2, 3, 4)
2. 4 Diploma options (1,2,3,4).
3. 4 Craft Certificate options (1,2,3,4)
4. 4 Artisan Certificate options (1,2,3,4).

Kuccps 2022-2033 Portal open Now for 2022 Application for 2021 KCSE students to universities and colleges

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, Kuccps, has today on Friday May 12, 2022  opened the application window for 2021 KCSE candidates to apply for Degree, Diploma, Certificate and Artisan Certificate courses in universities and colleges under Government sponsorship.

The Placement Service is pleased to announce that the online application portal is now open to all secondary school leavers to upload programme choices this year.

Uploading the filled in template

On the portal, under application, click on ‘Upload Form’ and submit.

Once uploaded, the system will generate a report on the same page, please ensure the details appearing there are correct, i.e. only the ones who paid and are making applications are marked, once you submit the form, you will not be able to change the students who will be allocated the funds.

 

Any programme codes highlighted in pink are erroneous and should be corrected.

 

Correct the excel sheet as necessary and re-upload until the report is flawless.

 

Once satisfied the report is representative of the intended upload, check the payment requirement and make the payment.

 

Paying for the Applicants

All payments are made via Mpesa Paybill for the whole amount for the number of applicants, the details are as detailed below:

 

Business Number: 820201

Account: 8-digit Center Code

Amount: (500*Number of Applicants)

 

Finalizing the application process.

Once you have paid enter the Mpesa transaction code in the field provided and ‘Apply’ the payment, this will assign the funds to the students with choices.

 

Click ‘Save Application’ to commit the choices.

 

Please note you will not be able to change allocation for student funds after saving, so be certain before submitting.

 

Visit the Dashboard at any time to view the current application.

Once it is final, please go to the ‘Dashboard’ tab and click the ‘Application Report’ button to download the report in PDF for the Principal’s Signature and stamp for submission to KUCCPS.

 

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, Kuccps, is a State corporation established under the Universities Act, 2012 to coordinate the placement of Government-sponsored students to universities and colleges, among other functions.

Kenya University and College Central placement service (KUCCPS) is a body that is responsible for admission of students to universities and colleges in Kenya. The body has enabled an online student portal where students can conveniently perform the following:

  • Application for admission to an institution
  • Checking admission status
  • Checking courses offered at the institutions and so much more.

 

KUCCPS Application Guidelines 2022/2023

  1. To apply, login to the Student’s Portal using your KCSE Index Number and KCSE Year. Use your Birth Certificate Number/KCPE Index Number as the Password.
  2. All programmes have minimum subject requirements. You will only be able to apply for a course whose minimum requirements you meet, but the selection will be determined by the overall performance and the available capacity.
  3. You may view the available programmes and their requirements by clicking the Programmes tab in the portal. You can also search for courses by institution, using the Institutions tab.
  4. As you select the programmes, you may move the ones that interest you into the Course Basket. This will enable you to work with a shorter list when preparing your final list of courses to apply for.
  5. Once you have settled on your preferred courses, you will only be required to enter the Programme Codes.
  6. To apply, use the Application/Revision tab to enter the Programme Codes.
  7. After confirming that the Programme Codes entered are for the courses you would like to apply for, please submit and follow the application fee payment instructions.
  8. An application processing fee is charged as follows:
    • Students applying for the first time – Ksh 1,500
    • Students revising their choices submitted in school – Ksh1,000
  9. The placement processing fee should be paid after you have selected courses.
  10. You are advised to keep your transaction code safely. It will be required before you make any subsequent changes to your application.
