<p style="font-weight: 500 !important;">“Good academic results are as a result of deliberate efforts from teachers, parents, learners and the community. Congratulations St. Peters Mumias Boys Primary for placing Kakamega County on the National map, by producing the best student,” Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa said on Thursday.</p>

<p><strong>Girls Vs Boys Performance</strong></p>
<p>In the 2022 KCPE, female candidates performed better than their male counterparts in three languages among them English, Kiswahili, and Sign language.</p>
<p>Male candidates performed better than female candidates in Maths, Science, Social Studies, and Religious Education.</p>
<p>Four counties recorded more male than female candidates this year. They are Turkana, Garissa, Wajir and Mandera.</p>

<p><strong>The statistics show that 62,310 adults sat the exams which represent 5.08 per cent of the total candidates&#8217; population.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Last year, the adults who sat the exams were 29,607, representing 2.42 per cent.</strong></p>

<p><strong>The statistics also show that all counties registered an increase in adult candidates from last year.</strong></p>
<p><strong>The results were released on Wednesday December 16, 2022 by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu at Mitihani House in Nairobi.</strong></p>
<p><strong>The statistics also showed that the number of candidates who were 12 years and below declined.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Machogu said that the number dropped from 33,627 (2.74%) in 2021 to 31,498 (2.53%) in 2022.</strong></p>
