KNEC Examiners Training 2020; Latest Update from KNEC CEO on the Status of the 2020 KNEC Examiners Training

The Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC has issued an official statement pertaining news doing rounds on social media bordering on the 2020 Examiners Training.

The council usually trains Examiners every year to ensure efficiency following the high enrollment rates attributed to the 100 percent transition.

The annual KNEC Examiners Training also helps the council to fill the empty slots left by examiners who have exited service either through natural attrition or advanced age.

This year, the Council has not issued any formal advertisement for teachers who are interested to enroll for the annual KNEC Examiners Training.

However a few days ago, there arose claims that the council has issued an advertisement for the 2020 KNEC Examiners Training.

Consequently, the social media and official KNEC platforms have been awash with comments from interested parties on the fine details of the training.

This necessitated Dr. Mercy Karogo, KNEC CEO to issue an official statement to refute the false information being circulated by propagandists.

From the look of things, the council may be forced to utilize Examiners who have already registered via the KNEC portal only since the upsurge of the Coronavirus pandemic may make paralyze any plans by KNEC to conduct any training this year.

KNEC EXAMINERS TRAINING 2020

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is a body whose mandate is to conduct training for teachers/tutors in order to sharpen their skills and equip them with the relevant knowledge aimed at preparing them to become examiners during national examinations.

Each year, the body oversees the administration of the following sets of national examinations that enable various categories of learners transit to higher levels of learning:

1. Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE)

2. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)

4. Early Childhood Development Education – Proficiency (ECDE)

5. Diploma in Teacher Education (DTE) examinations.
