Zetech University recently received an accolade after scooping a Sh1.46 million cash prize having emerged as the second best in a continental digital skills innovation competition.
The annual competition attracted entries from 26 higher education institutions across the continent and this year’s competition marked the third edition.
Zetech was among the 11 finalists representing the African region, showcasing its dedication to advancing technology and empowering young innovators.
In the competition, the institution showcased projects presented during the challenge including an Ecomobilus and Electric bike innovations by Paul Waweru, the Real Oil project by Samuel Oduor, and a smart farm project developed by a group of three students.
According to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Njenga Munene, “This recognition further underscores the university’s dedication to advancing technology and fostering inclusive digital solutions that resonate globally.”
While Veritas University of Abuja claimed the championship and BlueCrest College Sierra Leone secured the third position.

Students are trained to: identify problems and provide alternative and innovative solutions for business issues, efficiently develop and manage business enterprises and implement lessons learned to elevate organisations and businesses.
Bachelor Of Accounting And Finance- BAF
Program Goal
This programme will offer skills that produce business savvy graduates and enable them to apply sound accounting and financing principals and values in management of organisations. The graduates acquire skills in preparation of books of accounts, financial projections, accounting for tax, income and revenue, financial risks management, among other disciplines.
Bachelor Of Business Information Technology (BBIT)
Program Goal
This programme offers skills and training foundational aspects of IT and Business. The course combines the key aspects of Information Technology such as software development with the key facets of business such as accounting and operations management to give graduates an edge over their peers. It aims at developing the next generation of business leaders, managers and IT professionals who can successfully apply IT theories and principles to real-world business applications, opportunities and challenges, innovate businesses IT resources and build bridges between technology and business.

Program Goal
This programme will offer training to produce professional, transformative and innovative graduates of high integrity, who have theoretical, practical and analytical competencies for research and effective management of national healthcare systems.
