KUCCPS 2023/2024 University Application Dates & Intake
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has issued a statement clarifying the confusion surrounding the application dates for the 2023 intake.
The notice, which was shared on Sunday, February 26, stated that the 2023 application process had not yet commenced, contrary to information circulating in some quarters.
The statement further advised candidates and stakeholders to frequently check the KUCCPS website for updates.
Earlier in the week, Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu had announced that the process for the 2023 intake was expected to commence soon, without disclosing specific dates.
Speaking during a conference on university funding on Thursday, February 23, the CS noted that plans were underway to develop criteria to be used in allocating funds for capitation and other finances.
Meanwhile, KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Wahome explained that the placement board was working to ensure a smooth placement process for the upcoming intake.
She revealed that KUCCPS would open the application portal, but this would entail following an elaborate procedure, especially at a time when the education sector was going through a raft of reforms.
According to Wahome, KUCCPS has to receive the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination results (KCPE) from the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) for scrutiny.
Subsequently, the placement body receives a list of programmes offered in universities and institutions of higher learning. KUCCPS then conducts a process aimed at verifying whether the courses are accredited as a precautionary measure.
