Teaching Staff: The school has a very hard working teaching staff employed by the Teachers Service Commission, TSC. There is a strong support staff employed by the Board of Management, BoM.

This notwithstanding the school has unfortunately experienced several instances of student unrest and strikes over the years. For instance, in July 2020 Form Four students went on a rampage, destroying property worth millions of Kenyan Shillings. The strike was sparked by an “ambush” mock exam scheduled immediately after students returned from a three-week teachers’ strike. 20 students were arrested.

The school’s history is a story of evolution from a colonial-era intermediate school to a modern center of academic excellence. It was started in 1908.
