More rot has been brought to light in our Kenyan Education system after the Ministry of Education was obliged to put 7 KCSE top performing national schools on notice following claims bordering on unfair selection of form ones to their schools.
The principals of the seven national schools have already been warned about attempts to pre-select KCPE candidates hence interfering with the upcoming 2021 form one selection exercise and placement results.
The Ministry seems to have reached a resolution- trashing the pre-selected candidates to ensure fair selection.

In the year 2021, over 1 million candidates sat for the KCPE exam. All the pupils have been placed in secondary schools as per the 100 percent transition policy.
This number excludes inmates, overage candidates and those in refugee camps.
2021 form one placement results for national and extra county schools- admission lists
Based on previous form one placement results, in 2021, approximately 33,000 KCPE candidates will be admitted to national schools.
About 184, 816 will be admitted to Extra County Schools.
188, 454 candidates will be admitted to county schools and 777 to Special Needs Education institutions.

Parents and candidates can easily confirm the secondary schools that their children have been selected to join by sending an SMS with the candidate’s Index Number to 22263 from any network. Cost of the SMS is Ksh. 25.

Step 1:
Got to the Ministry of Education Website
Step 2:
Select the county and sub-county where the candidate sat for KCPE Exam
Step 3:
Enter your KCPE index number.
Step 4:
Click Submit
Step 5:
Click on the admission letter at the bottom of the page to download and print.
After you download and print your Form 1 Admission Letter, present it, together with your passport size photos, and results slip, to the school where you sat for your KCPE Exam for endorsement. Thereafter present the endorsed documents to the secondary school where you are required to report.
