A critical analysis of a TSC-employed Teacher’s Payslip in Kenya and Simplified Procedure on how to Stop Illegal SWAS KUPPET Deductions via TPAY
Teachers in Kuresoi North Sub County, Nakuru County were dumbfounded after KUPPET officials who visited several schools to enlighten them on union matters unraveled the riddle surrounding the Kshs 629.20 SWAS KUPPET monthly deduction dubbed agency fee by their employer, the TSC.
According to the KUPPET officials, the agency fee does not qualify the teachers as KUPPET union members.
This is rather shocking especially given that some teachers have been deducted the Kshs 629.20 SWAS KUPPET agency fee for over five years thinking that the union can shelve them when the storm strikes.
The big question is, where has the Teachers Service Commission been remitting the money to?
Cartels
According to some sources whose identity will not be revealed by Newspro, the TSC is allegedly conniving with some cartels that are after enriching themselves to rob and mutilate Kenyan teacher’s payslips.
KUPPET officials revealed that the union does not receive the whole amount of the money dubbed agency fee.
The saddest bit of this all is the teacher who has been duped for a long while into believing that she or he is an official member of KUPPET.
If your payslip still indicates that whatever you are contributing to KUPPET SWAS is an agency fee then you are not a recognized member of KUPPET.
You, therefore, need to access your TPAY account and stop the transaction until you confirm your registration with KUPPET by filling an official form.
Once you stop the deduction of the illegal agency fee, go back to the main menu on your TSC Online T-PAY and click on the third party self service button on the left hand.
Click on the “Send Payslip” button then scroll the dropdown menu and select SWAS KUPPET.
Your payslip will be sent to SWAS KUPPET.
Aftera few minutes, KUPPET will notify you to confirm your transaction via the TSC T-Pay online portal.
Click on the “confirm transactions” tab.
Click on the last tab with a dot on the next page then click on “confirm transaction” to give KUPPET a go-ahead to include you in their list of members.
The last step is filling a hard copy of the KUPPET form for filing at any nearest KUPPET office.
So take action today, do not let cartels scavenge on your TSC payslip!
