DRAMA AT SUNA PRIMARY SCHOOL AS PARENTS LOCK OUT HEAD CITING POOR PERFORMANCE
Suna Primary School’s activities were today laced with drama as enraged parents stormed the school and locked out the headteacher due to poor KCPE 2019 results.
Suna Primary School located in Homabay County, Nyanza Region attained a mean score of 213 in the KCPE 2019 exam results.
The school had only three KCPE 2019 candidates who scored 250 marks and above.
The total KCPE 2019 candidature for Suna primary School was 18 candidates.
DESERVICE
The angry parents accused the headteacher Mr Anyal of misappropriating school funds and resources.
They further accused him of bull-dozing things since he never held any meeting with either parent and the school’s board of management.
According to Mr Ombogo, one of the parents, they had tried to seek the intervention of Rachuonyo East Sub County’s TSC office in vain.
This explains why they decided to storm the school.
When contacted by The Standard, Homabay County TSC director Ms Grace Amira said she is oblivious of any formal complaints lodged in her office.
The parents have henceforth vowed to camp at the school until the Teachers Service Commission, TSC gives them another head lest they do without one.
SOME NEEDY 2020 FORM ONE STUDENTS LIKELY TO MISS OUT ON THE CHANCE TO JOIN THEIR DREAM SCHOOLS
Some KCPE 2019 candidates who scored very impressive marks are a worried lot due to lack of secondary school fees.
Despite the launch of the Elimu Scholarship Programme 2020 by professor George Magoha on Wednesday, some students are yet to find a way out of the lack of school fees quagmire.
One such unlucky pupil is Nyansera who scored 397 out of the total 500 marks during the KCPE 2019 exams.
Nyanchera was the best pupil at Nyanchonori DOK Primary School located in Nyamira County. She was selected to join Nyabururu Girls High School.
With Nyanchera’s current poverty-stricken status, she might not join Nyabururu Girls High School and pursue her dream of becoming a renowned lawyer.
Nyanchera’s mother is a farmhand at Nyankoba in Nyamira County.
Another affected learner is Treza Achieng’ who appeared in the top 15 KCPE 2019 top candidates in Kisumu County.
Treza received an admission letter from Lugulu Girls High School but she may not be able to raise the fees needed.
She is the firstborn in a family of three. Treza’s family lives at Nyalenda Slums in Kisumu. Treza scored 403 out of the total 500 marks during the KCPE 2019 exams.
