<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<h1><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;ff00ff&semi;"><strong>Education CS Machogu Briefs President Ruto about KCSE 2023 &lpar;January 2024&rpar; Results at State House<&sol;strong><&sol;span><&sol;h1>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"alignnone size-full wp-image-26251" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;newspro&period;co&period;ke&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2023&sol;01&sol;images-38&period;jpeg" alt&equals;"KCSE 2023 &lpar;January 2024 Results&rpar; Out Today&excl; Stay Tuned for the Live Release of KCSE Results by CS Machogu" width&equals;"275" height&equals;"183" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Education Cabinet Secretary in charge of Education&comma; Ezekiel Machogu&comma; is currently briefing President William Ruto about the <span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;000000&semi;"><strong>KCSE 2023 &lpar;January 2024&rpar; results<&sol;strong><&sol;span> ahead of the official release on Monday January 8&comma; 2023&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>As the norm dictates&comma; it is protocol for the Education CS and the Kenya National Examinations Council &lpar;Knec&rpar; officials to brief the Head of State about students’ performance so that the President can vet the results and sanction the official release&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>These pertinent details have emerged barely a day after news emerged that the results will be released on Monday morning&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu will tomorrow&comma; Monday&comma; January 8th&comma; 2024 hold a press conference at the offices of the Kenya National Examinations Council on Denis Pritt&comma; near State House&comma; at 8A&period;M&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>This will be the second cohort of KCSE results to be released under President Ruto’s leadership and the Education CS who took office two years ago from his predecessor&comma; Professor George Magoha&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Currently&comma; anxiety has reigned supreme in Kenya as all ears and eyes are now trained on KNEC to deliver credible results&period; Moreover&comma; parents and other key stakeholders are also waiting with bated breath to see what grading system will be applied during the selection of the KCSE candidates to TVETS&comma; colleges and universities&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Also&comma; the CS Education is expected to state the government’s plans to absorb KCSE students in universities&comma; colleges and Technical and Vocational Education and Training &lpar;TVETs&rpar;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<h3><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;000000&semi;"><strong>KCSE Candidature 2023<&sol;strong><&sol;span><&sol;h3>&NewLine;<p><strong>903&comma;260 candidates<&sol;strong> sat for the KCSE 2023 national examinations between October 2023 and November 2023&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The exams started on October 23 with practical papers and ran for a whole month till the end of November&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Basic Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang launched the theory tests at the Westlands subcounty containers depot&comma; where exam centre managers were picking the papers&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>KNEC CEO David Njeng’ere on his part also launched the theory papers at the deputy county commissioner&&num;8217&semi;s office in Kiambu Town where centre managers were picking exam papers&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Speaking to the media in October&comma; Njeng’ere said the council had put in place measures to curb leakage of the national examination&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>To end early exposure of the examination material – the main avenue of leaking exams – Njeng’ere said they had obtained additional containers to be distributed across the country for the safe-keeping of the exams&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>This will ensure that afternoon exams are not picked up in the morning as they used to be instead they will be picked up hours before the test&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>This announcement of KCSE results also comes barely two months after KCPE results were released and all the candidates received their results&comma; although with some technical errors&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Most of the KCPE candidates were awarded scores for the Kenya Sign Language&comma; KSL&comma; a subject specifically reserved for learners with special needs&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>During the briefing at the State House&comma; the President directed  the Education CS to release the results of all the students who sat for their KCPE&comma; saying that all of them would be admitted to the secondary level and so far so good&comma; all KCPE 2023 candidates have been placed in sub-county&comma; county&comma; extra county and national schools&period; They are expected to report on Monday January 14&comma; 2023&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
