<h1><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Education CS Machogu Briefs President Ruto about KCSE 2023 (January 2024) Results at State House</strong></span></h1>

<p>The Education Cabinet Secretary in charge of Education, Ezekiel Machogu, is currently briefing President William Ruto about the <span style="color: #000000;"><strong>KCSE 2023 (January 2024) results</strong></span> ahead of the official release on Monday January 8, 2023.</p>
<p>As the norm dictates, it is protocol for the Education CS and the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) officials to brief the Head of State about students’ performance so that the President can vet the results and sanction the official release.</p>
<p>These pertinent details have emerged barely a day after news emerged that the results will be released on Monday morning.</p>
<p>“Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu will tomorrow, Monday, January 8th, 2024 hold a press conference at the offices of the Kenya National Examinations Council on Denis Pritt, near State House, at 8A.M.”</p>
<p>This will be the second cohort of KCSE results to be released under President Ruto’s leadership and the Education CS who took office two years ago from his predecessor, Professor George Magoha.</p>
<p>Currently, anxiety has reigned supreme in Kenya as all ears and eyes are now trained on KNEC to deliver credible results. Moreover, parents and other key stakeholders are also waiting with bated breath to see what grading system will be applied during the selection of the KCSE candidates to TVETS, colleges and universities.</p>
<p>Also, the CS Education is expected to state the government’s plans to absorb KCSE students in universities, colleges and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVETs).</p>
<h3><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>KCSE Candidature 2023</strong></span></h3>
<p><strong>903,260 candidates</strong> sat for the KCSE 2023 national examinations between October 2023 and November 2023.</p>
<p>The exams started on October 23 with practical papers and ran for a whole month till the end of November.</p>
<p>Basic Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang launched the theory tests at the Westlands subcounty containers depot, where exam centre managers were picking the papers.</p>
<p>KNEC CEO David Njeng’ere on his part also launched the theory papers at the deputy county commissioner&#8217;s office in Kiambu Town where centre managers were picking exam papers.</p>
<p>Speaking to the media in October, Njeng’ere said the council had put in place measures to curb leakage of the national examination.</p>
<p>To end early exposure of the examination material – the main avenue of leaking exams – Njeng’ere said they had obtained additional containers to be distributed across the country for the safe-keeping of the exams.</p>
<p>This will ensure that afternoon exams are not picked up in the morning as they used to be instead they will be picked up hours before the test.</p>
<p>This announcement of KCSE results also comes barely two months after KCPE results were released and all the candidates received their results, although with some technical errors.</p>
<p>Most of the KCPE candidates were awarded scores for the Kenya Sign Language, KSL, a subject specifically reserved for learners with special needs.</p>
<p>During the briefing at the State House, the President directed the Education CS to release the results of all the students who sat for their KCPE, saying that all of them would be admitted to the secondary level and so far so good, all KCPE 2023 candidates have been placed in sub-county, county, extra county and national schools. They are expected to report on Monday January 14, 2023.</p>
