Criteria used to place KJSEA Candidates to Senior Schools at Grade 10
CRITERIA TO BE USED TO PLACE KJSEA LEARNERS TO SENIOR SCHOOLS (Based on KJSEA Results)
The Ministry of Education, MoE, has released a criteria that has been used in placing learners at Grade 10 in Senior Schools. According to the Criteria released by the MoE, performance at Grade 9 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) plays a key role. Learners with an average of 4.0 points and above have been placed at the traditional National Schools.
Grade 10 Placement
Here is the full Grade 10 placement criteria for learners; based on individual performance at the KJSEA results:
1️⃣ 90 – 99 = EE1 (4.0 Points)
🔹 Traditional National Schools (C1)
2️⃣ 75 – 89 = EE2 (3.5 Points)
🔹 Promoted National Schools (C1)
3️⃣ 58 – 74 = ME1 (3.0 Points)
🔹 Top Extra County Schools (C2)
4️⃣ 41 – 57 = ME2 (2.5 Points)
🔹 Promoted Extra County Schools (C2)
5️⃣ 31 – 40 = AE1 (2.0 Points)
🔹 County Schools (C3)
6️⃣ 21 – 30 = AE2 (1.5 Points)
🔹 County Schools (C3)
7️⃣ 11 – 20 = BE1 (1.0 Point)
🔹 Boarding Sub–County Schools (C4)
8️⃣ 01 – 10 = BE2 (0.5 Points)
🔹 Day Sub–County Schools (C4)
9️⃣ PR – Private Schools
🔹 Each private school must specify its own admission rubric.
