2015

Started as Bureti Technical Training Institute, focused on providing foundational technical skills to the region.

October 2023

Celebrated our First Graduation ceremony, a landmark event for our pioneer cohorts.

January 2024

Upgraded to a National Polytechnic, expanding our mandate to offer specialized national-level training.

2025

Awarded as Qualification Awarding Institution (QAI) and Qualification Awarding Body (QAB) by the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA).

GOVERNMENT FEES STRUCTURE FOR ALL NATIONAL POLYTECHNIC COURSES

Following your placement in the institution, you are eligible to apply on reporting the government scholarship, HELB & Bursary to assist you with your Training expenses. In case the government
scholarship and HELB do not cover the cost of your Training, the deficit will be paid by your
parent/guardian.

KCPE or KCSE certificate

Note: All courses are Examined and Certified by The Kericho National Polytechnic as a Qualification Awarding Body.

Exceptions:Nutrition and Dietetics (Level 5 & 6) have additional individual subject requirements as per the regulatory bodies.

New Funding Model (MTI)

Student-Centered Higher Education Funding

Under the new model launched in 2023, funding for TVET trainees is determined by individual financial needs assessed through the Means Testing Instrument (MTI). Support is provided through a combination of Government Scholarships, HELB Loans, and Household contributions.

Equitable support based on financial need
Direct tuition payment to the Polytechnic
Maintenance/Upkeep loans paid to student accounts
